About Caladium bicolor Plant :

  • Habit : A perennial herb without stems.
  • Leaves :
    • Borne on long petltate petioles arising directly from the underground tuber.
    • Generally lance or arrow head shaped with various spots or streaks of different colours like pink, red, gray or white.
  • Inflorescence : Spadix and spathe.
  • Flowers : Flowers are borne on the greenish white spadix and it is covered by a hood like structure-spathe.
  • Fruit : Small white berries with small ovoid seeds.
  • Significance :  Generally grown as an ornamental plant, both indoor and outdoors.
