  • Habit : A scandent shrub (often reports mention it as a climber).
  • Leaves : Oblong-lanceolate, shortly acuminate, acute at the base, glabrous, shining.
  • Inflorescence : Solitary or in pairs.
  • Flowers :
    • Greenish-yellow, sweet-scented.
    • Peduncle with a hook.
    • Sepals 3, valvate, connate below, ovate, acute, tips reflexed.
    • Petals 6, in two series, valvate, concave at the base, lanceolate.
    • Stamens indefinite, anthers adnate, 2-celled.
    • Carpels 6-10, obovoid when ripe.
  • Fruit :
    • Etaerio of berries.
    • Seeds large, oblong with endosperm ruminate.
