  • Habit : A small, deciduous tree.
  • Leaves : Imparipinnate, leaflets 5-7, ovate-elliptic, obtuse, acminate, glabrous.
  • Flowers :
    • Flowers in 5-20 cm long racemes, on young branchlets.
    • Calyx 1-2 mm glabrous.
    • Corolla purplish blue, standard glabrous, auriculate.
  • Fruit : Pods oblong, glabrous, with sutures.
  • Flowering and Fruiting Time : February-April
  • Significance : Ornamental tree planted along roads for its showy and fragrant flowers.
