    • Small.
    • Calyx small, teeth triangular.
    • Petals obovate, 5.
    • Staminal tube cup-like, stamens inside the tube, below the disk.
    • Ovary immersed in the disk, style short, stigma flat.
  • Fruit : Capsule big, brown, opens from below, seeds winged, large.
  • Flowering and Fruiting Time : April - May
  • Significance :
    • Cultivated in gardens and planted on road sides for shade.
    • A valuable timber plant-one of the finest in the world.
