About Tabebuia aurea Plant :

  • Habit :
    • A medium-sizedtree with light-yellowish-brown to yellowish-grey longitudinally fissured bark.
    • Main trunk and branches are crooked with generally down-ward bending.
  • Leaves : Opposite, digitate, leaflets generally 5, elliptic-oblong, glabrous with acute base and acuminate tip, petiolate.
  • Inflorescence : Terminal clusters on leafless branches.
  • Flowers :
    • Calyx copular.
    • Corolla infundibuliform, yellow, large up to 4-5 cm long and 2.5 cm broad on top, petal lobes 5, globose, little wavy, irregular.
  • Flowering and Fruiting Time : March - April
  • Significance : Ornamental in gardens and at places on road sides.
