About Tamilnadia uliginosa Plant :

  • Habit : A tall shrub or a small tree with reddish-brown scaly bark.
  • Leaves : Crowded at the ends of branches.
  • Flowers : Solitary or 2-3 fascicled, at the ends of short branches, white at length pale-yellow.
  • Fruit :
    • Ovoid or spherical, smooth, yellowish-brown.
    • Seeds numerous, compressed, glabrous, smooth.
  • Flowering and Fruiting Time : April - October
  • Significance :
    • Fruit sold in markets are eatable, boiled or roasted.
    • The leaves are eaten by cattle.
