About Asparagus setaceus Plant :

  • Habit : A beautiful delicate climber with roots not tuberous.
  • Stem : Woody, branches and cladodes many, close together, in flat, horizontal frond-like decorative sprays that are more or less triangular in outline.
  • Leaves : Cladodes many in a fascicle, filiform and bright green.
  • Inflorescence : Spike.
  • Flowers : White, 1-3 or 4 on short pedicels, Stamens 6, ovary superior.
  • Fruit : Berry, globose, purple-black coloured.
  • Significance :
    • Commonly cultivated in gardens.
    • Used by florists and mal is to be cut in strands for decoration, very beautiful and handsome plants used for indoor decoration.
