About Indigofera linnaei Plant :
Habit : Annual or biennial, prostrate or pendulous with stems silvery hairy.
Leaves : 7-9-11 foliate, stipules scarious, ovate, long-cuspidate, membranous dry, leaflets obovate, rounded or emarginated at the apex, cuneate at the base, more or less densely covered with white appressed hairs on both sides.
Flowers small, in short or compact axillary heads or racemes, bracts scarious, persistent.
Calyx hairy outside, corolla bright red, slightly longer than the calyx.
Fruit : Pods long, cylindric, 2-seeded, silvery, with a slight depression between the seeds.
Flowering and Fruiting Time : August-October
Significance : The juice of the plant is used as an antiscorbutic.
