About Cyperus laevigatus Plant :
Habit : A glabrous herb, rhizome creeping, stems rounded by imbricate or crowded their bases enclosed by imbricate, shining, chestnut-red scales.
Leaves : Short or long.
Inflorescence : Spikelets 1-30 in one lateral head; solitary or clustered, straw-coloured.
Flowers :
Bracts 2, one long, one short. Spikelets ovate, acute, compressed but thick, straw-coloured dotted with brown spots, 12-30-flowered, stalk square dotted with brown spots.
Glumes ovate oblong, acute, dotted with brown spots, imbricate.
Stamens 3, filaments ligulate, anthers linear-yellow with a red tip.
