  • Common Name : Dant-Rang, Vadhvarni, Chamror
  • Plant Family : Ehretiaceae
  • This plant was earlier placed in family Boraginaceae. But later with the changing views it is suggested that it should be placed in a separate family Ehretiaceae.

About Ehretia laevis Plant :

  • Habit : A small tree.
  • Leaves : Often very small alternate, elliptic-oblong, entire, glabrous or nearly so.
  • Flowers : White, up to 8-10 mm across.
  • Fruits : A small drupe, at first red, at length black.
  • Flowering and Fruiting time : January-April
  • Significance : The root and bark of trees of the genus are used in the treatment of venereal diseases.
