  • Stem : Stout, hairy, white.
  • Leaves : Large, ovate, cordate green above, white silky - tomentose below.
  • Inflorescence : Axillary cymes
  • Flowers :
    • Large, rose - purple, on long white - tomentose peduncles, bracts large, white, ovate - lanceolate, deciduous.
    • Calyx made up of 5 large, white - tomentose sepals, polysepalous.
    • Corolla bell - shaped, plicate, hairy.
    • Androecium made up of 5 stamens, included.
    • Ovary 4 - celled, 4 - ovuled, style slender, stigma globose.
  • Fruit : Berry, hard, globose.
  • Seeds : 4
  • Flowering and Fruiting time : August - September.
  • Significance :
    • Cultivated in gardens.
    • Young fresh leaves, hairy side, applied on boils for ripening and pus formation and then smooth side for healing wound in boils.
