A tuberous rooted twiner.
Leaves :
Fleshy, almost rounded to elliptic-oblong or obovate, cordate.
Inflorescence :
Umbellate cymes.
Flowers :
Green outside, violet-purple inside.
Stamens 5, lanceolate. Corolla-tube inflated below, lobes 5, corona staminal, 2-seriate, pollinia erect.
Fruit :
Follicles tapering to a point, seeds comose.
Flowering and Fruiting Time :
September - November
Significance :
The leaves and tubers are eaten.
