About Pyrostegia venusta Plant :

  • Habit : A climber with stout, angular stem.
  • Leaves : Compound consisting of 3 leaflets or sometimes two leaflets and a terminal one transformed into tendril, leaflets ovate or ovate-oblong.
  • Inflorescence : Corymbose cymes or racemes, drooping.
  • Flowers :
    • Calyx campanulate.
    • Corolla up to 7.5 cm long, orange-yellow.
    • Stamens 4 unequal.
  • Flowering and Fruiting Time : December - February
  • Significance : Cultivated in gardens everywhere for its beautiful vermillion orange-crimson coloured flowers.
