Habit :
A prostrate or suberect, glabrous or sparsely hairy herbs often with radially spreading branches.
Leaves :
1 - 4.5 x 0.9 - 3.5 cm, ovate - oblong ornearly orbicular, glabrous above, sparsely hairy beneath.
Inflorescence :
Racemes
Flowers :
Purple or violet, in 3 - 7 cm long, terminal and axillary, lax or compact racemes.
Fruit :
Pods 1.3 - 2.5 cm long, 6 - 8 jointed, reticulately veined, at length glabrous.
Seeds :
Ellipsoid - oblong, glabrous, brown, smooth.
Flowering and Fruiting time :
July - December
Significance :
Generally found as weeds in wastelands.
