About Capsicum annuum Plant :
Habit :
A small perennial herb with angular stems.
Leaves :
Broadly ovate, acuminate, wrinkled.
Inflorescence :
Extra-axillary cymose.
Flowers :
Calyx small. Corolla rotate, white-greenish or purplish, lobes 5. Stamens 5, Ovary two-celled, style slender, stigma capitate.
Fruit :
Berry small, oblong or ovoid, green and long, many seeded.
Flowering and Fruiting Time :
August-December
Significance :
Cultivated mainly for its small fruits which are hot and used in masala.
It increases appetite and useful in indigestion.
