  • Habit : A small, prostrate, creeping herb.
  • Leaves : Variable, ovate-oblong, obtuse or pointed, base hastate or auriculate, lower leaves lobed.
  • Inflorescence : Axillary solitary.
  • Flowers :
    • Flowers 1-3 together, white or pink, with 2 small bracts.
    • Calyx small, sepals unequal.
    • Corolla funnel-shaped.
    • Stamens 5, included.
    • Ovary 2-celled, stigmas 2.
  • Fruit : Capsules globose, seeds 4.
  • Flowering and fruiting Time : November
  • Significance :
    • It is known to be a very useful brain-tonic.
    • It is also useful in chronic bronchitis, asthma as well as in loss of memory.
