Habit :
A perennial herb with thick root stalk.
Leaves :
Large, oblong-lanceolate, hairy below with long petioles.
Inflorescence :
Loose spikes or panicles.
Flowers :
Few, bracteates, bracts linear, persistent.
Calyx tubular, persistent, corolla yellow, tube cylindric, exserted.
Stamen 1, lateral staminodes teeth like.
Labellum obovate, white tinged purple.
Ovary inferior, 3-celled.
Fruits :
Capsule angled, sub-globose, yellowish white, with many fine vertical seeds many, angled black.
Flowering and Fruiting Time :
January-February
