About Lindenbergia indica Plant :
Habit :
A small, glandular herb found growing on walls of some places (Lithophytes).
Leaves :
Opposite or the upper alternate, ovate, acute, serrate, glandular hairy.
Inflorescence :
1-2 flowered,Axillary.
Flowers :
Calyx bell-shaped, 5 lobes, triangular glandular-hairy.
Corolla yellow, bilabiate, upperlip 2-lobed, lower lip 3-lobed, rounded.
Stamens 4, didynamous, included, anthers with separate stalked cells.
Ovary 2-celled, style long, stigma lobed.
Fruit :
Capsule many seeded.
Flowering and Fruiting Time :
September-December
Significance :
Whole plant is boiled in water and vapour bath given in fever.
The juice is given in chronic bronchitis.
