About Oxalis latifolia Plant :
Habit :
A perennial herb without stems.
Leaves :
Possess three widely heart-shaped leaflets, distinctly triangular, leaves on long petioles which arise directly from rootstock.
Inflorescence :
Peduncle axillary carrying an umbel of 5-12 flowers.
Flower :
White or pinkish flowers with green throats, funnel-shaped.
Sepals 5, polysepalous, each sepal with 2 orange glands at the tip.
Petals 5, polypetalous.
Obdiplostemonous stamens. 5-celled ovary, each cell with many ovules, axile placentation.
Fruit :
Capsule, 5-seeded, seeds orange to dark yellow, ribbed
Flowering and Fruiting Time :
May - June
Significance :
It is generally grown as an ornamental.
