Habit :
An elegant perennial herb.
Leaves :
Alternate, simple, arrow-shaped, generally mottled.
Inflorescence :
Spadix
Flowers :
Flowers are borne inside a fleshy spadix which is covered by a spathe.
Significance :
The plant is known to possess poisonous compounds which are known to be toxic to dogs and pets.
It even causes irritation of lips, tongue and throat when ingested in human body.
However, it is still used as an indoor decorative house plant.
