About Lantana involucrata Plant :

  • Habit : An erect, medium-sized shrub with branched taproot system.
  • Stem : Willow-like stems with bark gray or light brown, rough.
  • Leaves :
    • Ramal and cauline, simple, light green, narrowly elliptic-oblong, rough and stiff with a crenate or toothed margin.
    • Leaves aromatic and smell like sage when crushed.
  • Inflorescence : Compact terminal heads.
  • Flowers :
    • The corolla may be white or pink to pinkish purple, with a yellow centre.
    • They are semi-showy and very fragrant.
  • Fruit : The fruits are clusters of purple to blue-black drupes 3 to 4 mm in diameter containing one seed each.
  • Flowering and Fruiting Time : Throughout the year.
  • Significance : Cultivated in gardens as ornamental.
