About Mussaenda luteola Plant :

  • Habit : A small, erect shrub.
  • Leaves : Opposite, elliptic-lanceolate, acuminate, narrow at bas, membranous, olive-green above, pale below, hairy, stipules subulate.
  • Inflorescence : Corymb
  • Flowers :
    • Calyx-tube 5-angled, 5-lobed, one lobe produced an expanded into an elliptic, acuminate, leaf-like petaloid structure, yellowish in colour with a long petiole and nerves.
    • Corolla salver-shaped, tube long, hairy at mouth, 5-lobed, yellow in colour.
    • Stamens 5, sessile, anthers included.
    • Ovary 2-lobed.
  • Flowering and Fruiting Time : July-October
  • Significance : Cultivated in the gardens.
