  • Habit : A tender glabrous evergreen shrub.
  • Leaves : Oppositely arranged, dark green, glossy, entire.
  • Inflorescence : Solitary or in few flowered clusters on axillary peduncles, red in colour.
  • Flowers :
    • Sepals unequal, the outer two somewhat foliaceous.
    • Corolla tube straight, rather long. Limb almost regular.
  • Significance : It is an ornamental flowering plant.
