About Agave salmiana Plant :

  • Habit : Xerophytic rosette succulent with low water requirements.
  • Stem : Reduced underground stem.
  • Leaves :
    • Dark green leaves, slightly bluish at their base.
    • The leaves are corrugated and folded towards the apex.
    • Their margins possess sharp pointed spines.
  • Inflorescence : When the plant matures, branched (15 - 20) inflorescence rises to about 20 feet bearing flowers to attract pollinators.
  • Flowers : Yellow in colourwhen buds.
  • Flowering and Fruiting time : July - August
  • Significance : It is mainly used for decoration purpose because of its ornamental foliage.
