About Alstonia macrophylla Plant :

  • Habit : A small sized tree up to 10 m tall with light grayish - brown, vertically superficially fissured bark that appears as yellowish-brown rough crevices.
  • Leaves : Near the ends of the branches, lanceolate, bright green with acuminate apex.
  • Inflorescence : Axillary, dichotomous corymb.
  • Flowers : White, salver - shaped, corolla tube 0.8cm long, 0.2 cm broad below contracted mouth with pubescence from within, pubescent near mouth.
  • Fruit : Follicles many, hanging, linear, pale grayish - brown, spirally opened for longer time on the tree.
  • Seeds : Many, 0.5 - 0.6 cm long.
  • Flowering and Fruiting time : August - November
  • Significance : It is an ornamental tree.
