Habit :
A small deciduous tree.
Leaves :
Sub-opposite, entire, oblanceolate, apex rounded, mucronate, base tapering into petiole.
Inflorescence :
Cymes
Flowers :
Small, white in colour.
Calyx 4-5 lobed, silky inside.
Corolla lobes 4, oblong, reflexed.
Stamens 4, filaments not hairy.
Ovary 4-celled, ovule 1 in each cell, style terminal.
Fruit :
Drupe ovoid, small yellow or reddish-brown when ripe.
Flowering and Fruiting Time :
March - June
Significance :
The fruits are eaten and pickled.
