  • Habit : A small deciduous tree.
  • Leaves : Sub-opposite, entire, oblanceolate, apex rounded, mucronate, base tapering into petiole.
  • Inflorescence : Cymes
  • Flowers :
    • Small, white in colour.
    • Calyx 4-5 lobed, silky inside.
    • Corolla lobes 4, oblong, reflexed.
    • Stamens 4, filaments not hairy.
    • Ovary 4-celled, ovule 1 in each cell, style terminal.
  • Fruit : Drupe ovoid, small yellow or reddish-brown when ripe.
  • Flowering and Fruiting Time : March - June
  • Significance : The fruits are eaten and pickled.
