  • Earlier this plant was placed in family Malvaceae but later it is suggested that it should be placed in family Sterculiaceae.

    • Sepals linear lanceolate, pubescent outside.
    • Petals oblique-obovate, retuse.
    • Carpels 5, ovary globose, villose.
  • Fruit : Capsule globose, pentagonal, villous.
  • Flowering and Fruiting Time : November - January
  • Significance : Grown as an ornamental plant.
