Habit :
A deciduous large tree.
Leaves :
Elliptic, acuminate, entire, cordate.
Flowers :
Male and female mixed, in short racemes or fascicles at the scars of fallen leaves.
Sepals 4, hairy. Stamens 4-8 (often 6 or 7), erect.
Ovary superior, compressed, 1-celled, stalked, ovule one, pendulous, style short.
Fruit :
Samara orbicular with reticulately veined wings.
Flowering and Fruiting Time :
February-March
Significance :
Common everywhere on the roads.
Children eat seeds.
