  • Habit : A deciduous large tree.
  • Leaves : Elliptic, acuminate, entire, cordate.
  • Flowers :
    • Male and female mixed, in short racemes or fascicles at the scars of fallen leaves.
    • Sepals 4, hairy. Stamens 4-8 (often 6 or 7), erect.
    • Ovary superior, compressed, 1-celled, stalked, ovule one, pendulous, style short.
  • Fruit : Samara orbicular with reticulately veined wings.
  • Flowering and Fruiting Time : February-March
  • Significance :
    • Common everywhere on the roads.
    • Children eat seeds.
