About Moringa concanensis Plant :

  • Habit : A tree with rachis thickened at the base, gland present at articulation.
  • Leaves : Bipinnate, leaflets 4-6 pairs and an odd ones broadly elliptic, obtuse at both ends.
  • Inflorescence : Panicles.
  • Flowers :
    • Bracteate, bracts minute, calyx cup-shaped, white, oblong, reflexed.
    • Petals yellow, veined with red, oblong.
    • Stamens 5 fertile, and 4-5 staminodes, filaments hairy at base.
  • Fruit :
    • Capsules straight, slightly constricted between the seeds.
    • Seeds white or pale yellow, 3-angled, 3-winged, wings very thin.
  • Flowering and Fruiting Time : January-February
  • Significance : A powerful tonic, stomachic, laxative and good in inflammations.
