  • Habit : A Small evergreen tree, armed or unarmed.
  • Leaves : Bipinnate, pinnae 4-6 pairs, leaflets sessile, oblong, glabrous.
  • Inflorescence : Axillary pendent spikes.
  • Flowers : Yellow coloured.
  • Fruit : Pods pendent slightly curved.
  • Flowering and Fruiting Time : August - May
  • Significance :
    • The wood is predominantly used as a fuel-wood species.
    • The wood is also used for making inferior quality of furniture.
    • The plant is is known to be grown for land reclamation.
    • The leaves are good fodder for cattle.
