About Tecomella undulata Plant :
Habit :
A small tree with drooping, hairy branches.
Leaves :
Simple, narrowly oblong, entire, obtuse, wavy.
Inflorescence :
Few-flowered racemes on short lateral branches.
Flowers :
Calyx campanulate, lobes short, ovate.
Corolla orange-yellow, campanulate, lobes 5, veined, unequal, rounded.
Stamens 4, exserted, anther-cells divergent and pendulous.
Disk copular.
Ovary oblong, ovules many.
Fruit :
Capsules big, flat, slightly curved, seeds winged.
Flowering and Fruiting Time :
February - April
Significance :
The bark is used for syphilis.
The wood is very strong and highly prized for furniture.
Bark given internally on broken bones.
